Stacey is a House Minority Caucus Policy Chair for Ways and Means, where she is responsible for helping the House Democratic Caucus on issues and positions regarding taxation during the session. She is also the Events Chair for the Caucus, guiding fundraising efforts.
Stacey also serves on four committees: Code Revision, Defense and Veterans Affairs, Judiciary - Non-Civil and Ways and Means.
In her first term, she was appointed by Speaker Glenn Richardson to serve on the House Study Committee to Incentivize Indigent Health Care by Physicians, leveraging her experience in health care and tax law and her active engagement on issues of poverty and access. She also served on the House Study Committee on the Future of Manufacturing in Georgia, which took her around the state to understand this vital sector of our economy.
In 2007, Speaker Richardson and Chief Justice Leah Sears appointed Stacey to serve on the Supreme Court of Georgia Committee on Legal Education, building on her service as a mentor to young lawyers and her role as an adjunct professor for aspiring law students at Spelman College and Yale University. In recognition of Stacey's committment improving the lives of Georgia's families through innovative and prudent laws, Chief Justice Sears added Stacey to the Supreme Court of Georgia Commission on Children, Marriage and Family Law.
Stacey is a member of the House Democratic Caucus, the Women's Legislative Caucus, the Working Families Caucus, the Rural Caucus and the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus. She sits on the Atlanta-Fulton House Delegation and the DeKalb House Delegation, where she serves as Policy Chair and on the Executive Committee.
